PI is a high temperature polymer with no melting point.

Mechanical strength, dimensional stability and creep resistance remain high even at temperatures above 260 °C. The low wear indices combined with good smoothness without lubrication and a high pV factor make it the ideal material for friction and abrasion sliding applications, extending component life and reducing maintenance costs. The high purity and low degassing of this material make it ideal for vacuum applications in the aerospace and semiconductor industries.
